You need to get rid of the elasticity of those Mexican handwraps.
Tie them tight around a big bottle and you let it sit for a week.

    Good stuff.

As far as advice on a heavy bag, I’d go for as expensive as you can afford, a good leather one will always last you longer. For god’s sake don’t go for canvas if you are kicking it, it’ll do you more harm than good, no matter what the ‘experts’ tell you.

A good 5ft bag weighing 80-90lbs will see you right for kicking.

Good thing about the overlap on the knuckles too, it’s something a lot of people neglect in their hand wrapping technique. Always protect your hands!

    Thanks Ronnie. We …
Thanks Ronnie. We also pulled enough length through our fingers to put a nice thick overlap on our knuckles. This avoided a thick hand-ie, too much wrap on the palm. I forget why we could not use elastic, but only gause. I gloved a lot of bowers and would check the wraps befor
our smokers. The thumb hole is a new thing that I like.
Any advice on a heavy bag, brand, length, diameter?. I decided to drop the weight to 100# and gel wrap, But I also want to use it for high kicks as well as boxing.

    I don’t think it’s oudated, that’s still how I wrap too.

Think it’s just a difference in teaching and practice to be honest.

    In Golden gloves we …
In Golden gloves we could not use elastic-70’s and 80’s but we wrapped like you show except we would pinch the gause and then bring it up between each finger as we wrapped. Is this just outdated or would it still be a good idea? Thanks and I enjoy your tips.
