January 31st, 2011

Treadmill and running equipment at the gym. I’ve been running at the gym since Monday from 3:00 PM to 7:00PM.

Treadmill–cardio helps you lose pounds and fat

Weights: help you build muscle

both are good in tandem, but make sure you have cardio if you don’t want to bulk up.

Does anyone know of a gym/trainer in the Raleigh, NC area that has MedX Strength Training Equipment?

January 28th, 2011

I am looking for a gym/personal trainer who has MedX equipment so that I can use for strength training. I will be moving to the Cary, NC area and have been working out with MedX equipment for a few years now.

Med-X and Nautilus equipment is crap. Free weights are so much better and every gym has them.

Work Out Equipment Question…?

January 26th, 2011

Posted by admin in work out equipment | 2 Comments »

My husband and I are adding a at home gym to our house (FYI – room already exist, just adding equipment, wanted to clear that up, lol), we just welcomed our first baby in August 2010. I am now a stay at home mom due to our daughter’s premature birth – I worked full time prior to her being born so we are trying to do this ‘work out room’ on a strict budget being that we are a one income family now. My question is does anyone know where we can get the best deals on work out equipment (online or in store)? Our budget is $1200. Any suggestions/recommendations are greatly appreciated, thanks! :)

Maybe give it another month or two if possible, all the new year’s resolution people will sell off what they thought was going to work, cheap, just to get riid of it. Also try craiglist. I have a Olympic bench, squat rack and 300 lbs olymic weights, only got to use twice, before becoming unable to workout anymore, I’m so tired of looking at it, and the space it’s taking, I’m going to sell it extremely cheap, if not give it away, so again look for used stuff, another source might be play it again sports, if they are still around, it’s used equipment. Regardless of which route you go, take a little while trying it out before buying, nothing worse then crappy equipment. Personally, I’d just find something for aerobic activity, treadmill, stair climber, etc. and then buy adjustable dumbells and a bench that goes from flat to incline to sitting straight up,, you can do a lot with just dumbbells and that part will be very reasonable, even new.

where can i find miscellaneous gym equipment?

January 26th, 2011

My dog decided to eat some of the pads on my weight bench (like the ones that would go under the backs of your knees and over your ankles for leg extensions) and i also need the small pins to attach a preacher curl handle to the bench (its basically a large and very stronge L wrench.) Anyone know where I can find them? I’ve looked around on some gym equipment sites but all they seem to have are actual whole weight benches. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

these days there are so many sizes and shapes of weight benches it is crazy. you may never find what you are looking for if you dont search specifically for what you have. my advice is to go to google and do a search on your specific brand of weight bench. this will more than likely lead you to a website of the equipment’s manufacturer. on their website you should be able to find their contact information. then you could either call their customer service or send them an email asking for assistance in finding replacement parts for your particular model. good luck to you!
