I am very weak, and I plan to begin a basic strength training programme. The problem is, I don’t have any gym equipment, other than two 3lb weights, and I can’t afford to join a gym.
Any suggestions? This is what I currently plan to do, however I know this by no means trains my whole body.

I am going to start the ‘100 push-ups challenge’ – http://hundredpushups.com/ . At present I can barely do one pushup!
For arms, would doing curls, etc with my 3lb weights be in any way effective. I have heard a million times that for most effective strength building, you should do high weight, low rep workouts, but I don’t have any heavier weights!
For the lower body, what exercises are most effective? I am planning to do squats and lunges, what else?
When it comes to cardio, I already do tons of that – I am a runner! Please help me!
Yeah…you can do a lot…without equipment…you can use your own body to resist and tone. It will be harder though if you are trying to build mass. Use 1 arm and push it down on another to resist. If you are trying to tone, then you will want to do reps followed by breaks, and more reps. If you are trying to just become stronger, then doing more may help. But there is no avoiding some good equipment if you want a full workout. Anything with weight can be used for strength training.
Working out is half the struggle for gaining strength, you will also need to get more protein. Get some protein into you after an intense routine.
YOGA believe it or not is always a great strength training workout. Just keep researching bud, I just listed very few things you could do.
