What is the best way to work out on your abs without equipment?

i really need to know to work out on it. Nothing else is working.

There’s a workout called leg lifts that got me an eight-pack. Find a place , while lying with your back on the floor, where you can have something to hold on to like a bed or a couch. Raise your legs straight up in the air then bring them down almost touching the floor. Repeat this as desired. I would usually listen to a song and do leg lifts through the whole song. (3 to 4 minutes long) Do these every day. (When I first started these I was so sore it hurt to walk)

My unit is deployed, so im looking for any nsns for sports equipment and weight lifting equipment?

If you don’t have weights you are probably in a remote post, I had that same problem last year. Talk to your LT and ask him to ask the company Commander, tell him that you need a way to stay in fighting shape for the whole platoon. that worked for me!

I was thinking that a Smith Machine and a dumbbell rack would pretty much cover everything. But, thought that a little community input couldn’t hurt.

You can do most exercises with dumbbells. A smith machine would be a nice addition.

Strength train without equipment?

December 29th, 2009

I am very weak, and I plan to begin a basic strength training programme. The problem is, I don’t have any gym equipment, other than two 3lb weights, and I can’t afford to join a gym.

Any suggestions? This is what I currently plan to do, however I know this by no means trains my whole body.

Abs: The Lolo Jones ab workout – http://www.runnersworld.com/article/0,7120,s6-238-263-266-13030-0,00.html

I am going to start the ‘100 push-ups challenge’ – http://hundredpushups.com/ . At present I can barely do one pushup!

For arms, would doing curls, etc with my 3lb weights be in any way effective. I have heard a million times that for most effective strength building, you should do high weight, low rep workouts, but I don’t have any heavier weights!

For the lower body, what exercises are most effective? I am planning to do squats and lunges, what else?

When it comes to cardio, I already do tons of that – I am a runner! Please help me!

Yeah…you can do a lot…without equipment…you can use your own body to resist and tone. It will be harder though if you are trying to build mass. Use 1 arm and push it down on another to resist. If you are trying to tone, then you will want to do reps followed by breaks, and more reps. If you are trying to just become stronger, then doing more may help. But there is no avoiding some good equipment if you want a full workout. Anything with weight can be used for strength training.

Working out is half the struggle for gaining strength, you will also need to get more protein. Get some protein into you after an intense routine.

YOGA believe it or not is always a great strength training workout. Just keep researching bud, I just listed very few things you could do.

Would anyone know anything about this piece of fitness equipment?

…It is called a Strength trainer ST 150…It has a pull down,bench press,butterfly,leg attatchment etc etc…
It has everything built in and you add the plates to up the weight…
I am wondering if it is a good unit for strength training, and if it is worth the asking price of $180.00
Thanks
Maybe i was not very clear..I was just wondering if this machine is a good machine.
I realize free weights yield better results and combining machines and weights is the best.
Anyone know of this machine?

you should invest in a regular bench that inclines with leg extention. make sure you get at least 100lb of weights to start off with. pick up some dumbells too. you can get it for the same price as the other and you can do more with it. weight varies from machine to machine, but barbell plates are always 45lb

i want to loose weight and tone up my body but not sure on which exercise equipment to buy (e.g treadmill, bike etc…)

I highly recommend this …

Schwinn 430 Elliptical Trainer
Love this machine! I’ve lost 8lbs in 2 weeks riding 4 hrs a week off and on WITHOUT
dieting!! It really does speed up your metabolism! No noise whatsover( I had read reviews before assembly so I knew not to overtighten leg bolts) about 2 1/2 hrs to put together, seemed daunting, but went smoothly except for line-up on one leg bolt.
finally got it to catch 40 min later!! Whewww!! Despite that,LOVE THIS MACHINE!! I find console to be accurate for time and calorie burn readings.
Signed, 45M 5-10 NOW 187lbs!! Yeah Schwinn!! Great job! TEN MORE LBS TO GO….

I bought it from…

The prices are good and FREE Shipping.
Hope you like it. Good Luck!

How can I stay fit and healthy if I can’t afford a gym membership or my own exercise equipment?

December 29th, 2009

I would like to know how I can stay fit and exercise all of my muscles even though I don’t make enough money after my bills to afford a gym membership. I also can’t afford to buy exercise equipment for my place, but I wouldn’t be able to anyway because my studio apartment is too small to contain any gym equipment. On top of it all I work at a desk job so I don’t get any physical exercise during my work hours either. Please help me solve this problem, my mood seems to be souring due to lack of physical exercise. I’m feeling more and more how much I need some kind of exercise because my physical health is suffering and this is affecting my mental and emotional well being. Thank you.

I’m a fitness buff myself who found myself in a similar situation a while back. I came to realize i was sitting on the best piece of equipment available my own body. You will see twice the result lifting your own body wieght from different variations on pushups and other excersise lifting your own body wieght in different more natural positions will double your strenght and boost mind and body awareness this is recommended before hitting the gym any how. But I guarauntee after doing it this way you’ll never stop if not just to hit the gym to show off your results to the gym elite
